The wax seal stick furnace is made of wood and copper piece with fine craftsmanship. The spoon is made of stainless steel plated with gold, shining and durable. The hadle of the spoon is made of wood which is drilled into the metal part, so you can change it into any hadle you like.

The furnace and spoon set came exactly as pictured, and have worked so well I'm considering getting a second one for faster transitions between colors. Overall great purchase!

I have been using this set for about a week now and have done approximately 50 wax seals. The spoon has started to show a little wear because the gold plating is starting to fleck off in the bottom of the bowl (see pictured). For me, this is not a problem at all, and this kind of wear was actually expected before I made the purchase, but it may be an issue for some people. I haven't noticed any deterioration in the quality or color of the seals produced using this spoon, so I have zero complaints.

Pros:

The wax seal spoon fits comfortably in the opening without risk of tipping or falling through.

I've found the spoon itself to be the perfect size for most projects when using 1.00" or 1.25" dies/seals. A smaller spoon may be more suitable for 0.75" dies so you don't accidentally use too much wax.

The heat conduction is consistent throughout the head of the spoon, so I get a nice even melt without excessive boiling on one side.

Cons:

The bottom of the tealight candle gets hot pretty quickly, so the set should not be used on a sensitive surface. I keep mine on an upturned plate or bowl to keep it off of the desk or counter.

For me, the pros far outweigh the cons. I'm quite happy with the purchase and have made good use of it.
